Wedding Lighting & Decorations

Christmas Decor by Hallco is a professional lighting company. Just because we have the name “Christmas Decor” does not mean we just do Christmas lights. We also do lighting for just about any event, especially weddings. 

What kind of lighting will you typically see at a wedding? If the wedding is outdoors, CDI by Hallco can create a custom display by lighting up certain trees with white lighting, a few shrubs and bushes, windows, lighting up the aisles, etc. We also have a list of products you can order from our company from: pots, urns, lattice arches, and more.

If you live in Maryland, chances are you have a deck on your property or know someone who does! I’m sure you are tired of having to maintain your deck every 6 months or annually. Painters Your Can Trust

I once was looking over painting contractor websites in California and came across this catchy tagline: 

“From the bucket to the brush, we’re the painters you can trust.” 

I love it when painters have fun with their businesses! I actually had met the owner of this company and can tell painting was not just a job, it was his life! I knew his company loved to paint and could definitely be trusted. 

Trusting a paint contractor has never been quite easy for homeowners. This is unfortunate, but it is because many paint contactors don’t take their job seriously. They don’t take pride in their work. They don’t provide customer service. They show up when they feel like it and will complete the job on their time clock, not yours. 

Unfortunately, trusting a painter in todays market is not getting any easier. When the economy gets hit hard, painters get desperate. They will cut their quality, their prices and do just about anything to get work. If a painter is willing to cut their prices a lot, be careful that the quality of their workmanship and the products they use are not compromised. The quality is determined by how long the job will take and how long it will last. Be extra careful when hiring a painting contractor in todays market. Do your research and hire someone who takes his or her business seriously. Make sure they LOVE to paint and are painters you can trust! How do you do it? Ask them if they will consider a small project and test their professionalism!

A Little Paint Humor From Hallco’s New Estimator

This blog is not just for boasting about how good Hallco Painting is and why you should hire us for all your painting needs! This is also a place for us to write just about anything related to painting and sometimes that inludes humor!

I’m the newbie to the east coast and to Hallco as of September of 2008. I was born and raised in San Diego working for my father’s painting business: Chism Brothers Painting. I moved to Maryland to be closer to my wife’s family and really wanted to stay in the painting industry. I had met Ted Hall, owner of Hallco Painting, a few years ago at a painting convention. After interviewing and researching a few paint companies in and around the DC and Baltimore area, I knew Hallco was the place for me! I now assist Ted in the marketing and selling of painting services and also his Christmas lighting business!

Ok, that is a quick background on who I am and why this next part is so humorous for those who are from the area. I did two very interesting things this week. 1) My Hallo truck was beginning to look quite dirty from all the rain, snow and salt we’ve had lately. So, I decided to wash it. I noticed that the hand car wash place was closed but they had a do it yourself car wash booth. I decided to do the unthinkable. I put $5.00 worth of quarters into the machine and spent the next 7-8 minutes racing around my truck trying to blast the frozen soap suds and ice off my vehicle. When it was all said and done, I got the bright pink suds off but coated my windows, mirrors and all painted surfaces with ice! Beneath the ice was the dirt that I could not get off because the water froze so quickly. Noticing my hands were about ready to fall off, I then jumped into the truck and checked the temperature: 16 degrees! Smart, David! Real Smart!

The second interesting thing I did was deciding to march around parts of Olney, Brookeville and Glenwood passing out painting door hangers. I was geared up with five layers of clothing. Funny thing was…I did not see anyone else walking around, taking their dog for a walk, doing yard work or anything outside! My body kept quite toasty but my face was like a snowman! I finally had to wimp out after a few hours and finish the day indoors. 

I learned my less about washing cars in cold weather and spending a lot of time outdoors when everyone else is indoors! The west coast is quite a bit different than the east, and that is something I am learning very quickly as I settle into this near territory.
